About this Course
The word Śraddha in Sanskrit means “dedication, commitment, conviction or faith” in any purpose or practice, and is an essential qualification for attaining a spiritual ideal or goal. We all have some kind of śraddha in our duty, responsibility, work, worship, and sadhana. It is said that śraddha is paramount to accomplishing any endeavor. It allows us to face the greatest difficulties. This firm conviction is invoked and worshipped as if She is a Goddess. This beautiful hymn of praise to the Goddess of conviction helps us to awaken the dedication within in our hearts. From the Taittirīya-brāhmana.
Each course provides review the six rules of grammar in Vedic chanting set out in the Tattiriya Upanishad: pronunciation, letters or vowels and consonants (varna), pronunciation (svara), duration or unit of length of sound (mātrā), force or strength (balam), continuity (sāma), and combination of two words that blend together (santānah).
